The Kitchen Of Her Dreams

Actress, Mother, Dog lover, and Social Media Influencer, Amy Davidson is one busy woman. When she approached The Cabinet Face, we knew we wanted to help make her complete kitchen remodel run a lot smoother and become the kitchen of her dreams. Amy’s open floor plan allows her kitchen to be seen from a lot of different rooms so it was important that we make this room a focal point and absolutely awe inspiring.

About 5 months ago, Amy started a grand renovation project of her current home. The project was a full remodel of the interior of the house. This included a full tear down and rebuild of the kitchen, dining room, bathrooms, and primary living areas. Needless to say, this was going to be a long-term project.

The Design Process

Amy approached The Cabinet Face early on in her design process to help curate the right cabinet faces for the kitchen update.

Amy’s kitchen is the heart of their home. Her family and guests spend most of their time in the kitchen, so they wanted cabinet faces that were warm and inviting but could handle daily use. After her plans were submitted, The Cabinet Face team went into discovery mode working directly with Amy to find the right colors, aesthetic, and material that would work for her home. Her goals were to have clean lines, to create an inviting space, and to use durable materials that would last a lifetime.

After consulting with The Cabinet Face team, Amy decided on our Pure White Matte Acrylic Slab and our Cortez Textured Melamine Slab.

Blending Materials and Colors

We advocate and encourage many of our clients to utilize multiple colors and textures in their kitchen remodels. A textured material like our melamine textured slab attracts the eye and brings a wholesome classic feel to any kitchen, and evokes a traditional or colonial style elegance. Not only that, it helps to add texture to large open spaces that can feel a little sterile when the surfaces are flat. You can pair these textured materials with a matte slab material to help open up a space and make it feel more open and inviting. Here, Amy invokes a New England feel by utilizing pastels in the upper cabinets of her kitchen. The pairing of the materials helps to create a timeless kitchen that incorporates traditional and modern design aesthetics.

The Right Materials

With the kitchen being one of Amy’s primary areas of the house, we wanted to incorporate materials that withstand constant use. We knew early on our acrylic materials would be integral to this kitchen remodel. Unlike vinyl or foil-wrapped cabinetry, Matte Finish Acrylic cabinets offer a low-maintenance material that is highly resistant to scratches, chemicals, and UV exposure for a lasting premium look and feel. Amy’s kitchen will receive an abundance of sunlight as well. With an abundance of sunlight, we knew this would be the perfect material to use in her remodel.

Overall, we loved working on this project and seeing it come to fruition. Amy was a pleasure to work with and we loved spending time!
